The First International Symposium on Mine Ventilation in South America took place from November 19 to 23, 2018 in Santiago de Chile and was organized by the Department of Mining Engineering of the University of Santiago de Chile. Throughout the event, courses, talks and exhibitions were held, as well as technical visits to the Chuquicamata Underground and El Teniente mines.


The objective of the symposium was to bring together a broad group of professionals related to mine ventilation from the universities of South America. In this way, it was possible to present and disseminate the latest advances and innovations in the area of mine ventilation, as well as to form numerous networks between companies, suppliers, engineers and researchers.are leaders in the field.

The second International Symposium on Mine Ventilation in South America took place from March 28 to 31, 2021 virtually and was organized by the Professional School of Mines of the National University of Engineering of Peru. The symposium brought together approximately 300 people including managers, bosses, participants, exhibitors, etc.; related to ventilation in the mining sector, so it represented a great opportunity for supplier companies to display their products and services.


The objective of the symposium was to carry out a bi-annual and itinerant meeting, under the auspices of the universities of South America, through the presentation of scientific-technological works aimed at specialists, researchers, academics, technology providers, among other related actors. with mine ventilation. Its purpose is to review, analyze and expose the state of the art, learning experiences, technological advances, research, trends and recent developments that allow access to a higher state of the art.
